Accelebot brings tilt-controlled platforming to iPhone
Solo developer Robert Perez has released Accelebot, a $0.99 iPhone platformer controlled by tilting the phone to move and tapping the screen to jump.
Accelebot is available on the App Store for $0.99. The 2D platformer runs in portrait mode and is designed for one-handed play.
The game has no virtual directional pad or dedicated jump button. Players tilt the iPhone to guide the character and tap anywhere on the display to jump.
Its levels include hidden areas and secrets. A level-selection screen records the secrets players have found. Each level also tracks completion times, allowing players to compare new attempts with their personal records and times set by Perez.
Players can customize the character with wearable cosmetic items. A quick menu lets them turn off sound effects and music without leaving a level.
Accelebot is currently available only for iPhone. Perez has not announced an Android version.
