Ares: The Iron Vanguard opens pre-registration on iOS, Android
Com2uS opened pre-registration for Ares: The Iron Vanguard on iOS and Android. The sci-fi ARPG adapts the original MMORPG into a mainly single-player game with real-time Battle Suit switching.
Com2uS announced that pre-registration is now open for Ares: The Iron Vanguard on iOS and Android. The developer says the title reimagines the original Ares MMORPG as a primarily single-player action role-playing game while keeping co-op PvE and PvP options. The game is set in the year 3400 and places players in a task force assigned to stop a new threat to the galaxy. Com2uS expects to release the game later this year but did not provide a firm date.
Gameplay focuses on exploration of large urban areas and uncharted planets, mission-based objectives and real-time combat. A core feature is Battle Suit switching: players can change between multiple suits during fights, with each suit offering different abilities and roles similar to instant class changes.
The title includes larger war machines that players can operate, including the slow-moving Goliath and the aerial Valkyrie, bringing vehicle-scale engagements into the ARPG format. The game offers a solo-centered campaign alongside dedicated co-op modes for both PvE and PvP content.
Com2uS launched a creator program with the pre-registration period to encourage coverage ahead of release. The announcement did not list pre-registration rewards or specific benefits for creators.
Com2uS describes Ares: The Iron Vanguard as a spinoff of the original MMORPG that shifts emphasis from large-scale massively multiplayer systems to a concentrated action-RPG structure while retaining cooperative and competitive multiplayer elements. The developer highlighted the combination of fast-paced ARPG combat, large-scale engagements and suit-based mechanics that allow players to change abilities during combat.
