Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: 60 FPS on PS5
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced runs at 60 FPS on standard PS5 and includes upgraded PSSR and extended ray tracing on PS5 Pro; it launches July 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will run at 60 frames per second on a standard PlayStation 5. The studio published full PS5 technical specifications ahead of the game’s July 9 release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
The PS5 build offers three graphics modes. Performance Mode targets 60 FPS with standard ray tracing and an upscaled 4K output (2160p). Fidelity Mode runs at 30 FPS with more extensive ray tracing and the same upscaled 4K output. Balanced Mode targets 40 FPS, uses extensive ray tracing and requires a 120Hz or 240Hz display to reach its frame-rate goal.
All PS5 versions support HDR, Dolby Atmos audio and DualSense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
PS5 Pro systems receive additional image-quality upgrades. Pro hardware unlocks Extended Ray Tracing to increase lighting and reflection detail across all graphics modes. Ubisoft will use an improved PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution upscaler to produce a cleaner image at the target 2160p.
The Resynced build introduces strand-based hair rendering. Protagonist Edward Kenway will display individually simulated hair strands that react to motion in every graphics mode. Nearby non-player characters receive the same strand-based treatment in Fidelity Mode. Cinematic sequences apply the enhanced hair rendering to all characters regardless of the selected graphics mode.
Balanced Mode offers a middle option for players who prefer a compromise between smoother frame rates and greater visual detail but requires a compatible high-refresh-rate display to hit 40 FPS. Ubisoft released these technical details as part of its platform-specific specifications for current-generation consoles.
