Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced nears 100K on Steam

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced peaked at 99,451 concurrent Steam players at launch but faces mixed user reviews over monetization and technical issues.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced reached a peak of 99,451 concurrent players on Steam at launch, while early user reviews on the platform remain mixed.
Data from SteamDB recorded the 99,451 peak, surpassing the all-time Steam concurrent figure for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which stood at 64,825. The game launched on PC and current-generation consoles.
Players reported that the Deluxe Edition includes cosmetic bonuses but that extra paid packs are needed for additional content: three character packs and three naval packs priced at $10 each, plus a $5 map pack. Reviews on Steam noted the added cost required to access that content beyond the base or Deluxe Edition price.
Users also reported technical and design issues, including cutscenes locked to 30 frames per second, redesigned menus some find less intuitive than the original, and gameplay changes compared with the 2013 release. Approximately 45% of Steam reviewers recommended the game.
Some players praised updated combat mechanics and the removal of present-day Animus sequences from the original. Other players expressed a preference for the original game’s systems and design choices.
The 2013 Black Flag received strong praise at release. Resynced updates graphics and systems for current hardware and attracted a large launch audience on Steam.
