Battle Waves Mobile Season 2 adds friend PvP, stackable hats

The solo developer released Season 2, ‘Friends & Foes’, for Battle Waves: Mobile on mobile devices today. The update introduces direct friend PvP, which lets players add contacts to a friend list and challenge them directly for head-to-head matches.

A new battle pass runs for the season and includes separate free and premium reward tracks. Daily quests provide boosted experience points, with rewards that can multiply XP gains up to three times to speed progression through the battle pass.

Players can mark a preferred arena for PvP matches. Units can be customized with stackable hats, a cosmetic option that does not change unit performance. The update also adds new variants for existing collectible cards.

Direct-friend matchmaking lets players set up games with known contacts rather than relying on randomly matched opponents. The favourite-arena option allows users to indicate a preferred map or layout for head-to-head matches.

The developer positions the game as simple to learn while offering strategic depth. The season release is part of an effort to expand the game’s competitive options by adding social and progression features that provide more player-versus-player choices.
