Black Myth: Zhong Kui 15-minute gameplay trailer debuts

Game Science released a 15-minute in-game trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui, showing the protagonist in combat and sections of the game’s darker supernatural story.
Game Science released a 15-minute in-game trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui showing the new protagonist fighting demons and excerpts of the game’s darker supernatural story. The studio said the footage comes from a work-in-progress build and may change before release.
All footage in the trailer is captured in-engine from an early development build running at a 21:9 aspect ratio. The sequence places players in control of Zhong Kui, a figure from Chinese mythology traditionally described as a vanquisher of demons and ghosts.
Combat sequences display fluid animations, weapon-based movesets and a range of enemy types. Extended engagements in the trailer highlight combos, enemy reactions and player-controlled actions rather than pre-rendered cinematics.
Environments shown in the footage have a darker mood than the studio’s previous title, with shadowed locales and creature designs that align with a supernatural theme. Lighting and effects emphasize atmosphere in several scenes.
Fragments of narrative appear within gameplay sections. The trailer presents brief story beats linked to Zhong Kui’s mythological role; it does not offer a full plot overview or dedicated story cinematics.
Game Science has not announced a release date, target platforms or final performance targets for Black Myth: Zhong Kui. The studio described the trailer as an early look and warned that visuals, performance and content are subject to change as development continues.
The studio’s prior title, Black Myth: Wukong, launched on PC and PlayStation 5. Game Science has not confirmed whether Zhong Kui will follow the same platform plan.
