Borderlands Mobile iOS soft launch expands to Canada

Zynga has expanded the iOS soft launch of Borderlands Mobile to Canada after an initial limited release in the United States.

Zynga has expanded the iOS soft launch of Borderlands Mobile to Canada. The game is available for download on the Canadian App Store after an earlier soft launch in the United States. Zynga, Gearbox and 2K did not issue an announcement for the Canadian availability.

The current release is a regional soft launch rather than a global release. The publisher is using the Canadian test window to gather player feedback and performance data before making further distribution decisions. The build is limited to iOS for the ongoing test period.

Borderlands Mobile adapts the franchise’s first-person looter-shooter mechanics for phones. Players can collect a large array of weapons, upgrade equipment and customize loadouts. The game includes named Vault Hunters such as Zer0 and Moxxi and offers mission types beyond the main campaign, including Tower of Terror and Circle of Slaughter.

Combat is designed for short, action-focused sessions against enemy types like Skags and Psychos and against larger boss encounters. The title uses the franchise’s cel-shaded art style and includes mobile-optimized controls and interfaces.

The soft-launch build supports cooperative missions, legendary loot drops, Vault-related content tied to the series, and a variety of weapon types and mods. Zynga is listed as the publisher, with Gearbox and 2K associated with the Borderlands intellectual property.

No schedule has been released for a wider iOS rollout or for launches on additional platforms. For now, the Canadian App Store is the latest region where the public can try the game during its soft launch phase.
