Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost to close July 31, 2026

Ambition Co., Ltd. announced Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost will shut down on July 31, 2026, ending nearly nine years of service for the mobile puzzle RPG.

Ambition Co., Ltd. posted on X that Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost will end service on July 31, 2026. The company attributed the shutdown to ‘business circumstances resulting in the closure of Ambition Co., Ltd.’ Both the Japanese and global servers will close on that date.

Released in Japan in 2017 and launched globally in 2018, the title was the first mobile game based on the Bungo Stray Dogs anime. The game combined match-style puzzle mechanics with role-playing elements, allowing players to deploy small character avatars, use character-specific abilities and build teams to recreate or expand scenes from the series.

The announcement was posted one day before the scheduled end of service. Players responded on social platforms, with one post describing the timing as ‘an eos announcement one day before closing is diabolical lol.’ Other users posted farewell messages thanking the development team and noting the game’s character illustrations and added story content.

Ambition confirmed there will be no refunds related to the shutdown. The game will remain available for download from app stores until the servers go offline, but its core online features will end when service stops. The company did not provide a detailed timeline for any wrap-up events, in-game compensation or options to export player data beyond the final end-of-service date.

The closure ends nearly nine years of updates, localized releases and live service for Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost.
