Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls to close Sept. 3, 2026
Konami will end service for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls on September 3, 2026, ending its five-year run on Apple Arcade; no refunds or offline version have been announced.
Konami will terminate online service for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls on September 3, 2026 (PDT), the company posted on the game’s official site and on X. The notice confirmed the shutdown date and thanked players but gave no reason for the decision.
Grimoire of Souls launched exclusively on Apple Arcade in September 2021. The side-scrolling action title presented an original story in the Castlevania universe and a playable roster that included Alucard, Simon Belmont, Charlotte and Shanoa.
The game featured character art by Ayami Kojima and music by long-time Castlevania composer Michiru Yamane. It offered about 60 levels, equipment customization and daily and weekly missions.
Konami’s notice stated there are no plans to release an offline version. The company also did not outline refunds, account closures or compensation for in-game purchases.
Because the game relies on online services for progression and multiplayer, features such as multiplayer modes, server-hosted events and online missions will stop functioning after September 3, 2026. Progress tied to server accounts and items requiring online verification will not be accessible after the shutdown.
Konami’s public communications so far are limited to the shutdown notice and a message thanking the community “for their enthusiastic support throughout the years.” The developer has not posted further guidance on player inquiries.
Grimoire of Souls was part of Konami’s push to adapt franchise titles for subscription and mobile platforms. With the scheduled closure, the title will be removed from Apple Arcade and cease online operations on the stated date.
