Clash of Clans tweaks Dragon units, Logger and equipment in July

Supercell will apply July 2026 balance changes to Clash of Clans, cutting Dragon Duke trap resistance, softening Dragon Rider, buffing Electro Dragon, Meteor Golem and Druid, and adjusting Logger.

Supercell will release a balance update for Clash of Clans in July 2026 that adjusts several troops, the Logger guardian and equipment ahead of the game’s Crafting Season. The changes are aimed at the Town Hall 18 meta and will apply globally.

Dragon Duke will have its trap damage reduction cut from 40% to 20%. Its Rage ability will remain unchanged. The Dragon Rider receives a small reduction at its highest level: hitpoints fall from 6,000 to 5,900 and damage per second drops from 510 to 490. Developers framed these changes as an effort to limit overreliance on flying hero power while avoiding an overcorrection.

The Logger guardian’s long-range control is reduced. Post-hit range for lower guardian levels is lowered from seven tiles to five, and for higher levels from eight tiles to six. At the same time, its close-range pushback is increased from one tile to 1.5 tiles so the guardian still influences ground attacks at short range.

Electro Dragon will receive modest increases to health and damage at its top two levels after developers identified it as underperforming in some war lineups. Meteor Golem is receiving the largest buff in the update: Supercell is restoring substantial health and damage to the unit to make its split-and-merge playstyle more viable. The Meteormites spawned by Meteor Golem will also gain increases to health and damage.

Druid healing is increased slightly at the top levels to encourage more frequent selection of the troop. Separately, Supercell is temporarily reverting a recent change to the interaction between Flame Blower and Rocket Backpack after a bug caused the Rocket Backpack to sometimes fail to trigger; the previous interaction will return until a permanent fix ships in a later update.

Supercell described the July changes as part of routine balancing for Town Hall 18 content and the upcoming Crafting Season, with a focus on keeping traps as a meaningful counter, reducing concentration of dragon-based strategies and restoring options for underused troops. The developer plans further updates and bug fixes in subsequent patches as needed.
