Clutch livestream shows 60+ minutes of gameplay, story details
Maverick Games streamed more than an hour of Clutch gameplay on June 26, 2026, revealing missions that follow foster siblings Theo and Cass, plus races, police chases and new locations.
Maverick Games streamed more than an hour of gameplay for its open-world racer Clutch on June 26, 2026. The livestream was hosted by studio founder Mike Brown and featured the same demo shown to select press at Summer Game Fest.
The footage followed foster siblings Theo and Cass. Early scenes place them as children in London, fleeing a social worker in a Fiat Multipla during the prologue. Later chapters show them racing on the professional R1K Championship circuit and becoming involved with an underground street-racing syndicate called the Midnight Collective.
Gameplay segments shown in the stream included circuit races, open-road street events and police pursuits. Chase sequences cross city streets and off-road terrain, with Theo evading police in a BMW M3 and Cass escaping pursuers in a Jeep.
Maverick confirmed Monaco and the French Riviera as additional playable locations featured during the demo. The studio did not specify whether London will be explorable in free-roam beyond the prologue.
The presentation introduced grappling hooks as a traversal tool that players can use alongside conventional driving. The demo also presented set pieces that combine professional championship events with illegal street races.
Audio in the stream mixed licensed music and the game’s original orchestral score. Robbie Williams’ “Let Me Entertain You” is heard during one of the opening chase sequences.
Maverick Games was founded by developers who previously worked on the Forza Horizon franchise. The studio used the livestream to show narrative direction and gameplay systems and did not announce a release date or platform details.
No new release window or platform list was provided during the broadcast.
