Clutch livestream shows hour of gameplay, new story details
Maverick Games streamed over an hour of Clutch gameplay on June 26, 2026, revealing story missions, R1K championship races, police chases and locations including London, Monaco and the French Riviera.
Maverick Games streamed more than an hour of gameplay for Clutch on June 26, 2026, offering the most detailed look at the game’s mechanics and story since its cinematic reveal at Summer Game Fest.
The presentation, hosted by studio founder Mike Brown, used the same demo shown to press at Summer Game Fest and walked through both early-story sequences and later racing segments.
Players take control of foster siblings Theo and Cass, who race on the professional R1K Championship circuit and become involved with an underground street-racing group called the Midnight Collective. The prologue is set in London; later chapters move to Monaco and the French Riviera.
Footage ranged from a childhood escape in a Fiat Multipla through London streets to adult competitions in a BMW M3 and an off-road escape in a Jeep. Police pursuits appear on urban streets and off-road terrain, and characters use grappling hooks to cross parts of the environment.
The stream demonstrated race formats, mission structure, camera presentation and the user interface during events. Story missions and R1K races were shown alongside law-enforcement pursuit sequences. It was not confirmed whether London will be available for free-roam outside the scripted prologue.
Audio design includes licensed music and an original orchestral score. The introductory chase in the stream featured Robbie Williams’ Let Me Entertain You.
Maverick Games was founded by developers who previously worked on the Forza Horizon series. No release date or full platform details were announced during the livestream, and further information on features and launch timing remains pending.
