COD Mobile to Raise Level Cap to 450, Revise Ranked Maps
Developers confirmed the player level cap will increase from 400 to 450 and Ranked Multiplayer map rotations will be revised using community voting during Inside CODM Episode 2.
Call of Duty: Mobile developers announced during Inside CODM Episode 2 that the player level cap will increase from 400 to 450 and that Ranked Multiplayer map rotations will be adjusted using community feedback. The episode was an online developer Q&A hosted by Activision featuring Head of COD Mobile Jeff Gullett and creator Parker The Slayer.
On progression, Jeff Gullett confirmed the immediate change will be a raised level cap to 450. He noted the team has discussed longer-term progression options, including a Prestige-style system, but no final plan has been set. The studio expects to roll out the cap increase in the near term to give veteran players a new milestone while further progression mechanics are evaluated.
For competitive play, developers outlined a new process for Ranked Multiplayer map selection that increases player input. The team plans to run polls through COD Mobile’s social channels so players can vote on maps for upcoming Ranked seasons. The social team will collect community responses and use that feedback to shape future Ranked map rotations.
Battle Royale work remains active. The large-scale BR map first teased in Episode 1 is still under development, and the studio continues to refine the existing Battle Royale experience. A fuller reveal of the new map is expected around the game’s anniversary season later this year.
Art direction and content variety were addressed. Developers said the game will continue offering a mix of styles, including military-simulation, sci-fi and anime-inspired operators and skins. There are no plans for a milsim-only season, but realistic operator designs and skins will continue to appear through Battle Passes, draws and seasonal events.
Seasonal plans were confirmed for Season 9 under the Your Season, Your Vote initiative. Players chose a Vampires vs Werewolves theme, selected the Pack Commander and Moonlight Vengeance operators, and voted for the Wolven Moonlight CX-9 and Cantus Rubra weapon skins. The season is scheduled to arrive in October 2026.
Developers said they are also working on quality-of-life improvements across modes, focusing on streamlining the player experience and polishing features while continuing active development on new content and events.
Inside CODM will continue as a regular forum for the studio to share plans, answer community questions and gather player feedback. Episode 2 emphasized that several upcoming changes, including progression tweaks and Ranked map selection, will be shaped in part by community input collected through official COD Mobile channels.
