Creators confirm hands-off GTA 6 preview in Edinburgh

Creators invited to Rockstar North in Edinburgh previewed GTA VI footage; their coverage can publish after Rockstar’s Extended Look on Aug. 27.

A small group of content creators visited Rockstar North in Edinburgh last month for a hands-off preview of Grand Theft Auto VI. The studio allowed attendees to publish their coverage only after Rockstar’s Extended Look presentation on Aug. 27.

Australian YouTuber TGG, known as The Gaming Gorilla, posted on X that he was invited to the studio and promised, “As soon as the Extended Look is out, I’m telling you everything.” Spanish streamer El Rubius announced a visit and plans to release an exclusive video with images and full details on Aug. 27. Brazilian creator Davy Jones confirmed his attendance and indicated he was the only Brazilian on the guest list. Italian creator Mike ShowSha posted on Instagram about a July visit and outlined planned coverage.

Attendees described the session as a curated showcase in which guests watched selected gameplay footage rather than playing the game. Visitors reported that devices were collected during the event and that Rockstar managed the guest list. The studio tied publishing permission to its own presentation, creating a synchronized embargo that prevents creators from posting before the Extended Look airs.

Several creators said they will publish exclusive screenshots and extended impressions that go beyond currently released material. Rockstar’s official account reacted to TGG’s announcement with a gorilla and heart emoji. Those pieces are expected to appear on creators’ channels and social feeds immediately after the company’s presentation.

Rockstar has previously limited outside access to unreleased projects and used controlled previews and embargoes to coordinate information releases. The recent visits follow a similar pattern: a selected audience, supervised viewing, and a synchronized publishing window aligned with Rockstar’s official schedule.
