Dawnwalker quest gameplay shows pixie creature and new spells

Rebel Wolves released an extended daytime quest gameplay for The Blood of Dawnwalker showing the pixie-like sanzhana and witchcraft spells including a running boost and Ravenous Flock.

Rebel Wolves released an extended daytime quest gameplay video for The Blood of Dawnwalker on July 21, 2026. The sequence walks viewers through a complete quest chain with combat, dialogue choices, supernatural abilities and RPG mechanics.

The footage introduces a new creature called the sanzhana, described in the video as pixie-like. It also showcases several witchcraft spells, including a running boost that increases traversal speed and Ravenous Flock, which summons shadowy crows that detonate near enemies for area damage.

The quest is set during daytime, which reduces the protagonist Coen’s vampiric abilities and emphasizes witchcraft and swordplay. The gameplay demonstrates two main approaches: navigating encounters through exploration and dialogue, or using spells and direct combat.

Combat in the sequence mixes traditional swordplay with magical effects. Players use environmental clues and interactions to solve puzzles tied to the quest. Dialogue choices and branching interactions are present and can influence how the mission resolves.

Character progression in the preview appears to be influenced by combat performance and spell selection, providing different tools for players who invest in witchcraft versus those who focus on melee skills.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is scheduled to launch on September 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Bandai Namco Entertainment is attached as the publisher.

Rebel Wolves described the sequence as a smaller-scale mission that highlights core systems players will use throughout the game, with the daytime setting designed to limit certain vampiric powers and foreground non-vampiric systems such as investigation, conversation and sword-based combat.
