Dead by Daylight hits record concurrent players
Dead by Daylight reached 125,820 concurrent players on Steam and more than 250,000 across platforms after the addition of Jason Voorhees, a free week and a 60% sale.
Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight reached a record concurrent peak overnight, with 125,820 players on Steam and more than 250,000 players across all platforms. The increase followed the release of Jason Voorhees as a playable Killer, a week-long free trial that runs through June 22, and a 60% discount that runs through June 25.
The Jason chapter is priced at $4.99 / £4.29. A Jason Edition bundle that includes the DLC and the base game is available for $11.68 / £10.04 during the sale.
Behaviour’s official Dead by Daylight account posted that the game “has now surpassed its highest concurrent player count across all platforms, with over 250K players.” The account added that the developer will continue celebrations with the release of Shane Wiigwaas and a tenth Anniversary in-game event on June 25.
The studio has outlined several updates planned after the anniversary event. Behaviour intends to overhaul character animations, map visuals and ambient audio, open the game to modding, restore missing Survivor voiceover and continue collaborations with external intellectual properties.
Dead by Daylight launched in 2016 and has received regular updates, new characters and licensed crossovers over the past ten years. The free trial runs through June 22, the sale through June 25, and the Shane Wiigwaas character and tenth Anniversary event are scheduled for June 25.
