Dead Island 2 among nine games leaving PlayStation Plus in August

Sony confirmed nine games, including Dead Island 2, will leave the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in August. Five titles have been extended through August 18.

Sony updated the PlayStation Store “Last Chance to Play” section to confirm nine games will be removed from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in August. The notice appears on the PlayStation Store game catalog page.

The titles listed for removal are Dead Island 2, Earth Defense Force 6, Unicorn Overlord, Harold Halibut, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Röki, Onee Chanbara Origin, Bomber Crew and Space Crew: Legendary Edition.

Five of the games were previously set to expire in July but now remain available through August 18. Sony has not published specific removal dates for the remaining four titles; the PlayStation Store page does not list exact dates for those entries.

PlayStation Plus subscribers can download and play any listed title up to its removal date. After a game leaves the Game Catalog, continued access requires an individual purchase unless Sony later adds the title back to the subscription offering.

The Last Chance to Play section is used to flag entries scheduled for removal so members can download them while they remain available. The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog is updated periodically as titles are added and removed.
