Diablo 4 hotfix stops infinite loot farms, restores boss fights

Blizzard released Diablo 4 patch 3.2.1 hotfix 4 to fix a Wirt’s Lucky Coins bug, stop infinite Prime Evil Council farming and prevent repeated Butcher spawns.

Blizzard deployed Diablo 4 patch 3.2.1 hotfix 4 on September 23, 2026, to address multiple bugs, exploits and progression issues in Season 15, Season of Hell’s Legacy.

The update fixes a bug where using Wirt’s Lucky Coins consumed the item without spawning the Tristram portal, which blocked access to the secret boss encounter and its high-tier drops. The sequence now reliably triggers the portal.

The developer also added a cooldown on Prime Evil Council rewards to stop repeated payout from repeated completions. Community Manager Rich Bantegui wrote that the team had ‘put a stop to a bug allowing players to endlessly farm the Prime Evil Council fight to gain excessive amounts of experience and loot.’

An exploit that allowed the Butcher to be spawned repeatedly inside Nightmare Dungeons was removed; Blizzard said the fix prevents repeated encounters that affected dungeon pacing and loot distribution.

The hotfix corrected several reward and progression problems. Kurast Undercity Tributes now consistently grant rare Horadric Cube crafting materials, including Kullean Tuning Prisms used to reroll legendary amulet aspects. The Resplendent seasonal reputation cache will now grant the expected Resplendent Spark, and multiple class quest progression blockers were cleared.

Balance and scaling fixes addressed specific class interactions. A bug causing the Warlock’s Fiend of Abbadon to receive excessive damage multipliers from its Lesser Demon Bonus was corrected and the related upgrade re-enabled. The Druid’s Old Mountain Talisman set bonus no longer repeatedly stacked with the Grief modifier.

The patch notes list these and other technical fixes. The update went live while Season of Hell’s Legacy remains active and follows player reports of the listed issues.
