Crunchyroll has released Microbird Games’ action–adventure RPG Dungeons of Hinterberg on Android and iOS through the Crunchyroll Game Vault. The mobile version is available on the Google Play Store and the App Store for Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan members. The game originally launched on PC in July 2024 and earned awards and positive reviews.
Dungeons of Hinterberg combines fast-paced ARPG combat with a low-key vacation simulation. Players take the role of Luisa, a burned-out lawyer who travels to the Alpine town of Hinterberg to explore magical dungeons. Play alternates between combat and exploration in the dungeons and quieter activities in town, such as visiting a bar, relaxing by a lake, watching a movie or talking with local characters.
The mobile release reproduces the PC content, including 25 handcrafted dungeons across four regions: Doberkogel, Hinterwald, Kolmstein and Brünneresel. Each region has distinct mechanics and visual styles. Dungeons include physics-based puzzles, regular enemy encounters and boss fights.
Combat lets players unlock and upgrade spells with varied effects, including summonable hoverboards and large wrecking-ball attacks. Characters can be customized through Charms and Outfits. The game offers multiple difficulty settings and RPG-style progression.
Building relationships with townspeople grants gameplay benefits such as new abilities, gear discounts and shortcuts through dungeons. The presentation uses a cel-shaded art style and a lo-fi soundtrack.
Crunchyroll is distributing the title via its Game Vault and requires a Mega or Ultimate Fan membership for mobile access. The mobile launch joins other recent action RPG and indie titles adapted for phones and tablets.
