eFootball 2027 Version 6.0 launches Aug. 13 with new tactics

Konami will release eFootball 2027 Version 6.0 on Aug. 13, 2026 across the live eFootball service. The update, titled “Play On, All Together,” introduces new competitive features, tactical systems, gameplay changes and fresh campaign content for the start of the new season.

Version 6.0 adds Custom Tournaments, which let players create and host competitions with other users, and a revamped Daily Super Play, a daily mini-game experience. Daily Super Play will feature special content, including an FC Barcelona version of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as an Epic card.

Tactical options expand with Fluid Formations, which change how a team occupies space and reacts to match situations, and the Overload Team Playstyle, which concentrates attacking pressure. Managers can assign two Link-Up plays to a squad (double Link-Up) for more specific offensive patterns. Frank Lampard appears in the New Season Campaign as a manager character associated with the Overload Team Playstyle.

Gameplay mechanics gain Dynamic Volley and a new action called Stunning Shot, enabling stronger volley attempts regardless of the ball’s flight height. The update adds new animations for movement, dribbling, kicking, passing, crossing and goalkeeper reactions, including updated defensive footwork, smoother player movement and refined kicking motions.

Playing Styles have been split so players can carry different styles for attacking and defending. New defensive-focused Playing Styles are designed to interact with Fluid Formations and change player behavior when possession shifts. Position Tokens will no longer list a player’s registered position among the positions they can learn, preventing common inefficient upgrades.

The New Season Campaign delivers Highlight players from FC Barcelona and Manchester United available through campaign content. From Aug. 14 the Special Player List will add Diego Costa, Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard; Diego Costa will include a new Edge Booster in addition to his standard booster. A new Manager Pack featuring Antonio Conte includes two Link-Up plays named Over-the-Top Pass C and 1-2 Cut-in B.

Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal remain ambassadors for the release. Ambassador Packs and Ambassador Editions for both players will be available, offering Epic player cards, cosmetic items, training items and purchase bonuses depending on the edition selected.

The Version 6.0 update will be available on Aug. 13, 2026 and applies to the live eFootball service as the opening update of the 2027 season.
