Fantasy Westward Journey: Reunited iOS pre-registration in China

NetEase opened iOS pre-registration in China for Fantasy Westward Journey: Reunited, a PC-first title that allows cross-platform progress between PC and iOS.

NetEase Games has opened iOS pre-registration in China for Fantasy Westward Journey: Reunited, a PC-first entry in the long-running Fantasy Westward Journey franchise. The App Store listing is live for users in China; the company has not provided dates for a global release or an Android launch.

The title is set during the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, more than 500 years after the previous conflict between humans, immortals and demons. The narrative begins when Guanyin Bodhisattva identifies five destined figures to recover Buddhist scriptures. Players take the role of one of those reincarnations and must locate established characters such as Sun Wukong, Marshal Tianpeng, General Juanlian, the White Dragon Horse and the Golden Cicada Master before travelling across the Three Realms.

Reunited returns to the franchise’s turn-based MMO combat. The game supports party play, turn-based battles, and systems for collecting and training summoned beasts. It includes item crafting and upgrades, alchemy, and player-run stalls for buying and selling items. Social features include chat while AFK and in-game challenges linked to progression and crafting.

NetEase describes the project as PC-first and says progress will carry over between the PC client and the iOS build. Pre-registration is available now on the China App Store. Additional information and updates are posted on the game’s China-specific official website.

Fantasy Westward Journey launched on PC in 2001 and expanded to mobile in 2015. The series draws on the classic novel Journey to the West and continues to use familiar races and characters while updating systems for current MMO design.
