Leak: Far Cry 7 may pair 72-hour campaign with extraction
A leak claims Far Cry 7 will combine a campaign limited by a real-time clock of up to 72 hours with a separate scavenge-and-extract survival mode.
A leak posted to social media by an account known as Rogue (@AgaiinTx) claims Far Cry 7 will ship with two distinct modes: a time-limited story campaign and a scavenge-and-extract survival mode built around high-risk loot runs.
The post describes a campaign that places a real-time clock on play, with a maximum limit of 72 hours. The narrative is said to focus on a wealthy family kidnapped by a group identified in the leak as the “Sons of Truth.” Players are reported to work to rescue as many as six family members, with the alleged time limit intended to create non-linear decision points and repeated playthroughs to reach different outcomes.
The extraction mode is described as a core feature running on maps separate from the campaign. The leak frames that mode as a scavenge-and-extract survival loop combining player-versus-player encounters and environmental threats, where players loot areas and must reach extraction points to secure their gains. The post presents the mode as a major element of the package rather than a side activity.
Rogue has posted earlier reports about the next mainline Far Cry and is identified by some as a source for pre-release details. The account’s claims have not been confirmed by the developer. Ubisoft has said multiple Far Cry titles are in development and that one will release before the end of March 2029, but the company has not provided specific information on Far Cry 7’s modes, setting or story.
The leaked details remain unverified and subject to change during development. Features described in early reports may be altered, added or removed before any official announcement from Ubisoft.
