Final Fantasy 7 Revelation may need about 200GB of SSD

Director Naoki Hamaguchi said Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s final install size will be around 200GB, larger than Remake (about 100GB) and Rebirth (about 150GB).

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will likely require around 200GB of SSD space when fully installed, director Naoki Hamaguchi said. That figure exceeds the roughly 100GB needed by Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the approximately 150GB required by Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Hamaguchi told reporters the final install size should be “around 200GB” and acknowledged the large file footprint could present an issue for some players. He said the development team must work within available resources to deliver the planned experience.

Square Enix has shown new footage and confirmed a release date following recent showcases this year. The company has not provided a detailed breakdown of how the install space is allocated across assets and systems.

The title will not fit on a single physical disc, and Square Enix intends to offer a physical edition that will require multiple discs because of the size. Players who buy either the digital or physical edition will need substantial free storage on platforms such as PlayStation 5 and PC.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake originally required about 100GB, while Rebirth landed at roughly 150GB, reflecting an increase in install size across the remake project.

Hamaguchi’s estimate was concise: “around 200GB.” Players planning to purchase Revelation should check available drive space and free capacity ahead of launch.
