Five mobile games to try in August 2026
CookieRun: Crumble, Astro Arena, Ragnarok: The New World, BATTLE IN HELL’S PARADISE and EA College Football Mobile 27 are listed as top mobile picks for August 2026, on Android and iOS.
Five mobile games released in July and early August 2026 were highlighted as top mobile picks for August. The titles span genres including idle role-playing, fast-session PvP, open-world MMORPG, survival RPG adaptation and sports management. All five are available on Android and iOS.
Devsisters released CookieRun: Crumble on July 30, 2026. The game shifts the CookieRun series to an idle RPG format in which teams of collectible characters continue to progress while the player is offline. Players assemble lineups of Cookies, test strategies against waves of enemies, and unlock additional modes and RPG systems as they level up characters and explore synergies. The title retains the series’ established art style and is designed for both short play sessions and ongoing character progression.
KRAFTON’s Astro Arena launched in early July 2026. It is a 3v3 mobile MOBA with matches that typically run about five minutes. The game combines hero-based combat with roguelike-style upgrades that appear during a match. The hero roster includes characters with distinct skills and ultimates. Astro Arena supports different control options, including automated targeting and full manual input, and features modes such as DOM and CPM focused on short, repeatable competitive matches.
Gravity released Ragnarok: The New World on July 16, 2026. The title is an open-world MMORPG in which a single character can switch jobs freely and learn multiple classes, including a Druid option. Skill resets carry no penalties and gear enhancement preserves enhancement levels when upgraded. The game supports offline resource gathering, guild raids, cooperative boss battles, player-driven trading and hunting powerful PvP monsters that can be unlocked as mounts. The current rollout targets Southeast Asian markets.
Good Smile Company published BATTLE IN HELL’S PARADISE on July 1, 2026. The game adapts the Hell’s Paradise property into a survival-focused RPG set on an island environment. Players form parties from characters such as Gabimaru and Yuzuriha, recruit new allies created for the game and face escalating encounters. Each ally includes story content added for the mobile version, and the project’s visual direction included animation supervision from MAPPA. The gameplay emphasizes resource management and team strengthening.
Electronic Arts released EA College Football Mobile 27 on July 9, 2026. The title provides roster-building mechanics that let players collect, upgrade and develop athletes, manage team chemistry and construct lineups. Seasonal live events follow the real-world college football calendar with matchup-themed challenges, rewards and features that highlight rivalries, mascots and stadium presentation. The game centers on long-term roster progression and event-driven content.
All five titles are distributed through the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Developers implemented features such as offline progression in idle and MMO offerings, short-session competitive design in the MOBA, expanded narrative content in the anime adaptation and seasonal live events in the sports entry.
