Free Fire 9th Anniversary Adds 3D Party Lobby, New Systems

Garena’s Free Fire 9th anniversary update runs through July 26 and adds a 3D Party Lobby, Skill Boost and Weapon Awakening systems, team-focused Battle Royale changes, Craftland events and free rewards.

Garena is running a month-long anniversary update for Free Fire through July 26 under the theme “Fighting in Unison, Partying as One.” The update replaces the standard lobby with a 3D Party Lobby, introduces two new progression systems, adjusts Battle Royale mechanics to favor team play, adds special Craftland content and delivers a mix of free and premium in‑game rewards.

The 3D Party Lobby is modeled on the 9th Anniversary Stadium and functions as an interactive social space. Players can use launch pads and seesaws, sit in interactive areas, try Saddle Brawl mini activities, change character sizes and use dance floors with a Group Dance Captain feature. The lobby also includes an Arena Showdown area where users can watch live matches and make in‑game predictions.

Two new systems extend progression in Battle Royale and Clash Squad modes. The Skill Boost System gives players configurable skill paths for eight characters: Alok, Chrono, Homer, Kassie, Koda, Oscar, Skyler and Wukong, allowing teams to adjust abilities for different strategies. The Weapon Awakening mechanism uses Weapon Awakeners to upgrade nearly any weapon, enhancing stats and adding tactical options.

Battle Royale updates add a teammate revival mechanic to allow downed allies to return to a match. Anniversary Quests appear at designated map locations and in vending machines. These cooperative objectives include destroying Anniversary Fragments, collecting coins via jump pads and reforging a large sword. Completing quests grants squads team buffs, improved rewards, vending machine discounts and anniversary-themed map effects.

A refreshed point of interest called the 9th Anniversary Party Venue features celebratory decorations and references to Free Fire’s history. The update adds a new downed-state animation and a Fist Bump interaction players can use after battles. Event-driven collectible items and milestone rewards are available through in‑game activities during the anniversary period.

Free items offered during the event include a 9th Anniversary Backpack, an anniversary-themed male bundle, an upgraded PARAFAL gun skin and a Katana skin, plus additional rewards tied to milestone completion. Premium items for purchase include a dynamic male bundle with shifting visual effects, an AUG EVO gun with distinct audio and scope visuals, a transformation-themed shoulder summon effect and new Group Skydive and Group Travel emotes.

Craftland receives limited-time content for the anniversary. The Free Garden map hosts an Energy Storm that converts fruits into Energy-Mutated Fruits which players can exchange for rewards. The Steal A Pet map runs a two-week event where players earn points to redeem exclusive pets and other gifts.

Garena extended the celebrations with an in-person event tied to the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks at The Standard, High Line in New York. Attendees at that event can claim exclusive anniversary merchandise and receive the Captain of Justice bundle. The anniversary content and map changes remain active in-game through the event window ending July 26.
