Major releases arrive Aug. 24–30, 2026, including Star Wars Zero Company, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Elden Ring Tarnished Edition.

The final week of August 2026 brings a concentrated slate of game releases across PC and consoles, timed to coincide with Gamescom Opening Night Live. Publishers are scheduling launches between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30, with several high-profile titles arriving mid-week.

On Aug. 27, Star Wars Zero Company will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The title is a turn-based strategy game that places players in command of elite agents during the later stages of the Clone Wars and emphasizes squad management and tactical combat. Also on Aug. 27, Konami will release Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch (including Switch 2 where supported) and PC; the package includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker with technical updates and bonus content. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, a narrative prequel set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, arrives the same day on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, following a character named Sophia as she travels to Minotaur Island in search of her brother Malik.

Nintendo’s Switch 2 receives Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Aug. 28. The release combines the original game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion in a version optimized for the platform. On the same day, Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will reach PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC, featuring an expanded roster and new gameplay moves for its football-style matches.

Several smaller and genre-diverse titles release earlier in the week. On Aug. 25, Once Human, a free-to-play open-world survival game already available on PC, expands to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Apidya’ Special will appear across modern platforms with updated 24-bit pixel art and remixed music. Patrice Désilets’ 1666: Amsterdam enters PC early access on Aug. 25 as a narrative-driven third-person action-adventure set in a darkened version of the city. Blood Dungeon, a 2D platformer with merge-style auto-fire combat, and Western Rye, a survival and ranch-building early access title, also arrive on Aug. 25. Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 debuts on consoles and PC with cooperative PvE combat and class-based gameplay.

On Aug. 26, BRIGANDINE ABYSS will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC; the turn-based strategy game lets players command one of six nations through campaign battles and monster encounters. Other releases on Aug. 27 include Aggelos 2, a 2D action-platformer, and Lou’s Lagoon, an open-world life-simulation about rebuilding island communities after a hurricane. Classic arcade content continues on Aug. 29 with Flying Fire Shark!! Toaplan Arcade Garage on PS4 and Switch, bringing the 1987 shooter to modern consoles.

The week’s releases will appear across retail outlets, digital storefronts and early-access programs. The lineup spans single-player narratives, strategy games, cooperative shooters and retro compilations, offering platform-specific editions and technical updates where publishers have noted them.
