Gaucho and the Grassland Android port includes exclusive prequel

The developer confirmed an Android port of Gaucho and the Grassland is planned for release in 2026 and will include an original prequel story exclusive to the handheld edition.

The announcement coincided with the game’s first anniversary, when the team shared details about platform expansion and new content. The prequel will be available only on the mobile release, and the studio has not clarified whether it will function as a standalone chapter or a prologue to the main game.

Gaucho and the Grassland is a life-simulation set in the grasslands of southern Brazil. Players perform ranch work, farm, mine, customise a cabin and explore a rural world inspired by the Brazilian countryside.

The developers said the mobile edition will be the title’s first handheld release. They have not provided a specific release date for Android or confirmed plans for an iOS version. The team described the prequel as an original story written specifically for handheld players.

Core gameplay elements from the original release — farming, mining, cabin customisation and exploration — are expected to appear in the mobile port. The developers plan to adapt controls and interfaces for touchscreens and smaller displays.

The original PC and console launch drew attention for its setting and aesthetic, with coverage and player interest focused on the southern Brazilian landscape and the game’s agrarian systems.

The developer said it will share further details about the prequel’s length and how it connects to the main game as the mobile launch approaches. Players can follow updates from the development team ahead of the 2026 Android release.
