Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launches Oct. 1

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition launches Oct. 1, adding Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and Most Wanted roguelike mode. It costs $69.99; current owners can buy a $14.99 upgrade.

Sucker Punch Productions will release Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition on October 1. The package includes a new story expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara, and a roguelike-style single-player combat mode called Most Wanted. The Complete Edition is priced at $69.99; current owners can buy an upgrade that adds both expansions for $14.99.

Echoes of Sekigahara shifts the game’s narrative between protagonist Atsu’s present-day journey and flashbacks to her time on the mainland. In the present timeline players explore a hidden valley once ruled by a figure known as Snake and his army of Vipers and encounter Nagato, a character with history tied to Atsu. The expansion returns players to the battlefield at Sekigahara to show events from Atsu’s past before returning to the present. Echoes of Sekigahara adds new enemy types, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes.

Most Wanted is a roguelike-style combat survival mode in which players accept bounties at the start of each run. Completing bounties grants perks that carry into subsequent runs. Unlockable characters expand available combat styles: Atsu uses dual katanas, Oyuki wields a kusarigama and Nagato fights with a yari. The mode supports repeated playthroughs and experimentation with different character builds and loadouts.

The Complete Edition bundles the base game with Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, Ghost of Yōtei Legends and the Digital Deluxe Edition content. The package also includes the Charm of Hokkyokusei, additional Watanabe Mode tracks, new Photo Mode stamps, extra New Game+ cosmetics and new trophies. Players who preorder by September 30 will receive early access to the Sakai Armor cosmetic on October 1; the armor is inspired by Jin Sakai’s armor from Ghost of Tsushima.

Sucker Punch announced that owners of the original release will receive several free features with the October update. The Beauty of Yōtei feature lets generated Ezo environments run in the background and be used as dynamic Photo Mode backdrops. Other additions include the option to keep an armor’s appearance while swapping in another set’s stats, a new high-contrast accessibility option, additional Watanabe Mode music, extra New Game+ cosmetics and trophies tied to Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara.

The Complete Edition arrives roughly a year after Ghost of Yōtei’s initial launch and combines the base game and subsequent content into a single package while providing a paid upgrade path for existing owners.
