Ghost Recon: Wildlands next-gen upgrade arrives Aug 6

A briefly visible PlayStation Store listing showed Ubisoft will release a free next‑gen upgrade for Ghost Recon: Wildlands on August 6, 2026, with 60fps, 4K, PS5 adaptive triggers and a new mission.

A PlayStation Store listing that was briefly visible online indicated Ubisoft plans to release a next‑generation upgrade for Ghost Recon: Wildlands on August 6, 2026. The page listed 60 frames per second performance, 4K visuals, PlayStation 5 adaptive trigger support and a new single-player mission called “Last Rites.” The listing also showed a free trial for new players running August 6–10.

The listing was removed from the storefront after it was noticed. It described upgrades for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles and listed additional changes including new cosmetics, faster load times and 3D audio support. Adaptive trigger functionality on PS5 was named in the product details.

Owners of the digital PlayStation 4 version will receive the PS5 edition at no extra cost. Players with a physical PS4 disc must have that disc inserted to access the PS5 download. The free play window from August 6 to August 10 would allow new players to try the upgraded build at no charge during that period.

Ubisoft has scheduled a Ghost Recon 25th anniversary event for August 6. The PlayStation Store page appeared before that event. Ubisoft previously indicated a Definitive Edition for current‑generation hardware was in development; the company had not confirmed the full upgrade details at the time the listing was removed.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is an open‑world tactical shooter first released in 2017. If the listing details are accurate, the upgrade will deliver higher frame rates and resolution on current consoles and add the new mission “Last Rites” at no extra cost to players.

Full confirmation and a complete feature list are expected during Ubisoft’s anniversary event.
