Gothic Classic launches on iOS with full 50-hour PC game

THQ Nordic Mobile GmbH released Gothic Classic for iOS on the App Store, listing the price at $10.99. The port brings the original PC title to iPhone and iPad; Piranha Bytes developed the release. A Nintendo Switch version arrived in 2023, and the iOS edition was first announced in March.

The game places players in the penal colony of Khorinis, where a magical barrier confines convicts. Players start as ordinary prisoners, can join one of three rival factions with distinct political goals and armor, and must fight to gain standing and freedom. Choices influence faction strength and the balance of power inside the colony.

The iOS build retains the complete PC content without cuts or simplified mechanics and provides more than 50 hours of gameplay. Combat progression relies on finding trainers across the game world to learn new techniques and improve fighting styles.

Non-player characters follow daily routines-working, eating and sleeping-and react to the player’s presence. The game emphasizes open exploration over a guided linear path. The mobile release includes updated visual filters to adapt the original visuals for handheld screens while keeping core gameplay intact.

Gothic Classic is available to download from the App Store for $10.99. THQ Nordic Mobile has indicated an Android release is planned and will announce further details at a later date.
