GTA 6 Launch Emphasizes Single-Player; No GTA Online Mention

Rockstar frames Grand Theft Auto 6 as a single-player title, with no mention of GTA Online. The game launches Nov. 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S; pre-orders open June 25.

Rockstar is promoting Grand Theft Auto 6 as a single-player experience and did not mention GTA Online in its launch messaging. The company confirmed a November 19, 2026 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and set the standard edition price at $79.99. Pre-orders open at midnight local time on June 25.

Rockstar’s announcement described GTA 6 as “a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.” The publisher presented the game’s narrative as centered on characters Jason and Lucia.

The announcement did not include details about any multiplayer component or a successor to GTA Online.

Grand Theft Auto V launched in 2013 and its separate online mode, GTA Online, arrived after the main game’s release. GTA Online generated ongoing revenue for Rockstar through microtransactions and periodic content updates for more than a decade.

Rockstar has expanded previous Grand Theft Auto titles after launch. The June announcement did not provide a schedule for any post-launch multiplayer features.
