GTA 6 PC Release Projected for Mid-Late 2027

Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026; a PC release is estimated for mid to late 2027 based on past port timings.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected on PC in mid to late 2027, following a confirmed console launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. Rockstar Games has not announced a PC release date.

Rockstar revealed GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023 that introduced two protagonists and a Vice City setting, and later released a second trailer and a gameplay showcase on Netflix. The official GTA 6 site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as launch platforms. Rockstar’s press release states, “Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems.” The release window was later moved to 2026.

The mid-to-late-2027 PC estimate is based on the company’s recent port schedule. Grand Theft Auto V arrived on PC about 18 months after its console debut. Red Dead Redemption 2 reached PC roughly 12 months after its console release. Earlier main-series titles such as Grand Theft Auto III and IV appeared on PC about six months after initial console launches. Applying those intervals produces an estimate for a PC launch several months after the 2026 console release.

Industry observers have noted that limited availability of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S units could influence demand for a PC release. Rockstar has provided no timeline for a PC port, leaving players and retailers to await an official announcement.

Players and technical reviewers are watching for PC-specific details that typically accompany a port: minimum and recommended system requirements, supported resolutions and frame rates, and mod support. Attention is also focused on content elements highlighted in trailers and the gameplay showcase, including the soundtrack, vehicle roster and available weapons.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is the first numbered main-series entry in more than a decade. Rockstar has continued to release major updates and ports for prior titles; current public materials emphasize next-generation consoles for the 2026 launch while a PC timeline remains unconfirmed.
