GTA 6 gets PS5 Pro Enhanced tag on PlayStation Store

Grand Theft Auto 6 received a PS5 Pro Enhanced label on the PlayStation Store as pre-orders opened; Rockstar has not detailed what technical improvements will be included.

Grand Theft Auto 6 has been given a PS5 Pro Enhanced label on the PlayStation Store as pre-orders went live. Rockstar Games has not provided a technical breakdown of what the label will include.

The tag appeared on store pages in several regions, including New Zealand, shortly after pre-orders opened. The label indicates the title will include optimizations for Sony’s higher-end PS5 Pro hardware.

Sony is marketing GTA 6 as “Best on PS5,” listing features such as DualSense support, 3D AudioTech and near-instant loading times. The PS5 Pro Enhanced designation on the store identifies additional or improved support for the Pro model, though Rockstar has not specified which features will be altered.

Games that carry the PS5 Pro Enhanced label typically receive upgrades to image fidelity, lighting systems, resolution scaling and frame-rate stability. Developers often use PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) on the Pro to increase apparent resolution without rendering every pixel natively. Those improvements vary by title and developer implementation.

Rockstar has not announced frame-rate targets or confirmed whether the game will run at 60 frames per second on PS5 Pro. Players will need an official technical rundown or publisher-provided comparisons to learn exact performance differences between base PS5, PS5 Pro and other platforms.

Rockstar has said GTA 6 will launch first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the Xbox versions available on Game Pass, and a later release planned for PC. The publisher set the standard edition price at $80 and the Ultimate Edition at $100. Physical PlayStation copies will ship without a disc and require a download to play.

Sony introduced the PS5 Pro to offer higher GPU performance and features intended to improve visuals and frame rates over the base PS5. Previous PS5 Pro Enhanced titles have shown gains in lighting quality and resolution while aiming to maintain stable frame rates, but exact benefits depend on each game’s technical approach.

Pre-orders for GTA 6 are active and Rockstar’s promotional campaign is ongoing. The company has not provided a timeline for publishing detailed technical specifications.
