Gunboat God sets Nov. 17 launch for crocodile-led shooter

Gunboat God is scheduled to launch Nov. 17 on iOS and Android. A Nintendo Switch version is planned, though no release date has been announced.

The side-scrolling shooter follows a player stranded in an unfamiliar location who is trying to reach a Citadel in the sky. The player travels in a heavily armed boat, with a crocodile named Yeti serving as the mechanic.

The game will include 180 levels across more than 20 mission types, including Collision Course, Outlast and Boil. Players will encounter 70 enemy types and multi-phase bosses in several environments.

Eight weapons will be available, including cannons, lasers and the Vaporiser. Each weapon can be upgraded. The boat can be customised with more than 10 abilities and augments.

During levels, the boat can dive underwater or rise above the surface. These changes allow players to avoid hazards such as underwater mines and acid rain.

The mobile version will use a try-before-you-buy model. The first biome will be free and will not contain advertising. Players will need to pay to access the remaining content.
