HandyGames Email Sparks Rumor of Epic Mickey Rebrushed on Android

A Reddit screenshot of a HandyGames customer support reply saying “There will be an announcement soon” prompted speculation an Android port of Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed is coming; no confirmation exists.

A Reddit user posted a screenshot of an email exchange with HandyGames that reads, “There will be an announcement soon, so stay tuned.” The image prompted discussion that Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed could be headed to Android, but the studio has not issued any public confirmation.

The exchange shows the reply came from HandyGames customer support. HandyGames is owned by THQ Nordic and has published Android versions of several console and PC titles, including SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake, Maneater, Way of the Hunter and Wreckfest. Those ports explain some of the interest in a possible Epic Mickey release.

Several commenters on the Reddit thread expressed skepticism. They pointed out that customer support teams do not typically disclose release plans in direct replies. The original poster had earlier shared a concept image that suggested a Play Store listing and later clarified the image’s status. One forum user wrote, “This is not a very credible leak in the slightest but the SpongeBob games are on Android so sure.”

Disney Epic Mickey Rebrushed is a remake of the 3D platformer in which players guide Mickey Mouse through the Wasteland, using a paintbrush to restore environments and a thinner to erase obstacles and reveal hidden paths. Community posts noted that the game’s controls and visual assets would need adaptation for touch input and a wide range of Android devices.

At present, the only public evidence is the single email screenshot and community discussion. Neither HandyGames nor the holders of the Epic Mickey rights have made an official announcement about an Android version.
