Helldivers 2 pauses November updates amid GTA 6 buzz

Arrowhead Game Studios announced on its official channels that Helldivers 2 will not receive its regular updates in November. The pause covers content updates, balance patches and scheduled in-game events for PC and PlayStation.

The studio wrote that work on larger fixes and planned features will continue behind the scenes and described the update pause as limited to November. No detailed timeline was provided for when the normal update schedule will resume.

Players linked the break to heightened attention around Grand Theft Auto 6, citing increased streaming and forum discussion for that title. Arrowhead did not directly connect the pause to Grand Theft Auto 6 publicity.

One player wrote on social media, “I was counting on the November patch for weapon balance — feels like everything’s stopped because of GTA 6 hype.” Another post read, “If the team needs a breather, that’s fine, but a clearer schedule would help.”

The announcement noted that seasonal activities tied to November will be postponed or condensed into future drops. Players will retain access to the core game and previously released content, and matchmaking and servers will remain online.

The studio encouraged players to report critical bugs so those issues can be prioritized during the pause.
