Helldivers 2 launches TCS 2.0 campaign; R-4 Hyena rifle reward

Helldivers 2 launched the Terminid Control System 2.0 Galactic Campaign, sending players to defend orbital megastructures. Completing it awards the R-4 Hyena Marksman Rifle.

Arrowhead Game Studios launched the Terminid Control System 2.0 (TCS 2.0) campaign on June 30, 2026, placing players on missions to defend newly constructed orbital megastructures. The campaign is part of the game’s Galactic War storyline and runs through the new Galactic Campaigns system.

The studio announced the operation in an in-game campaign bulletin tied to Galactic War progress. The bulletin said players must protect towering defensive barricades in orbit while they are built, rather than deploying planet-scale chemical sprays used in earlier operations. The in-game Ministry of Defense described TCS 2.0 as “bigger, better, and safer than Termicide 1 ever was.”

Arrowhead designed TCS 2.0 after the original Termicide system produced resistant Terminid mutations that allowed bug populations to rebound in multiple sectors. The earlier approach relied on chemical towers to exterminate Terminids at planetary scale. TCS 2.0 uses constructed orbital defenses intended to contain the threat without planetwide chemical deployment.

Players who complete campaign objectives will receive the R-4 Hyena Marksman Rifle for use in subsequent missions. Galactic Campaigns replace the older Major Orders format with story-driven operations that last one to three weeks, provide defined goals and grant usable in-game rewards rather than only medals.

The update adds a new Forest (Fall) biome and includes weapon and enemy balance changes alongside several quality-of-life improvements. Progress on Galactic Campaigns can be tracked from a player’s ship through the new Control Center, which shows regional standing and campaign milestones as teams contribute to building and defending the TCS 2.0 structures.

TCS 2.0 missions require teams to hold positions around construction sites and repel waves of Terminids while the megastructures come online. The design shifts tactical demands compared with prior Termicide operations, which focused on deploying and protecting chemical launch platforms. The update continues Arrowhead’s scheduled additions to Helldivers 2’s Galactic War content.
