Hidden Chicken Egg Appears in CS2 Rush Update

Valve added Rush, a 3v3 tower-control mode, in a CS2 update. Players reported a hidden Chicken Egg drop that can hatch into a collectible pet.
Valve released an update for Counter-Strike 2 that adds Rush, a three-versus-three tower-control mode, and quietly introduced a collectible Chicken Egg that can hatch into an in-game pet. The patch is live and includes gameplay and cosmetic changes.
Rush reduces team size to three players per side. Instead of planting bombs, teams compete to capture and hold a small tower while eliminating the opposing team. Matches cycle through a random selection of 15 arenas and a leaderboard tracks wins.
The update makes several gameplay adjustments. Players can hold the reload key to swap magazines more slowly without producing a reload sound, and unscoping from scoped weapons is now silent. Crosshair customization gained additional shape options. Impact visuals were clarified: bullet holes are larger and appear more consistently on different surfaces, and blood splatters have been increased to make hits easier to read at range.
Competitive systems were changed. Premier pick-and-ban now has each team select two map options to form a pool; the game randomly chooses one map from that pool. Stickers can be applied to planted C4 and players can display a clan tag by selecting a Steam group.
A hidden feature drew attention after players found a Chicken Egg among normal item drops. Clicking the item makes it twitch and after a period it can hatch into a chick. The pet must be fed as it grows and can disappear if neglected. Fully grown chickens produce commemorative photos and appear in roughly 36 color variants. Valve did not highlight the egg in the official patch notes.
Dataminers have located references in game files to a weapon labeled M14 and an entry called “Cbble,” likely a remake of the Cobblestone map. Valve has continued releasing updates that add modes, tweak competitive systems and adjust visuals.
