Honor of Kings: Ace launches in China Sept. 10, 2026

Tencent will release Honor of Kings: Ace in China on Sept. 10, 2026. The cross-platform strategy hero card battler was formerly called King’s Chess and completed multiple closed tests.

Tencent Games will launch Honor of Kings: Ace in China on Sept. 10, 2026, the company announced at its gamescom 2026 showcase. Attendees at the event had hands-on access to the title, which is set in the Honor of Kings universe and appears on multiple platforms.

Tencent describes the game as a strategy hero card battler that emphasizes building synergies and outplaying opponents with tactical combinations. The company’s official description reads: “build unique combos, forge your strategy, and become the ultimate ACE.”

The project was first revealed in 2022 as King’s Chess, an auto chess–style spin-off using familiar Honor of Kings heroes. Over roughly four years of development the concept evolved into the current card-battler format. Tencent ran several closed tests in China, including one in June 2026, to refine systems and balance.

The Sept. 10 release date currently applies only to China. Tencent has not confirmed a global release schedule. An earlier trademark filing in Europe had spurred speculation about an international launch, but the company has not announced plans outside China.

Honor of Kings is one of Tencent’s largest franchises. Honor of Kings: Ace began as a smaller experimental project and expanded through multiple testing rounds and design changes to its present form.
