Triomatica Games announced I Want to Play the Villain!, a theatre-themed logic puzzle slated for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS in Q1 2027. A demo will be available on Steam on Aug. 17, 2026.
Players arrange cast members, swap costumes and assign roles to change how staged plays end. Each actor has defined traits such as ambitions, fears and preferred roles. Placing actors in particular parts or pairing them with certain co-stars alters interactions and can lead to different final scenes.
The game is structured in chapters. Each chapter introduces new locations, characters and puzzle mechanics. Progression requires matching actor preferences to roles and managing stage relationships so performances resolve according to the cast configuration.
Triomatica developed the title after releasing Boxville and Boxville 2. The studio described the project as combining narrative elements with logic-puzzle design to emphasize character relationships in a theatrical setting.
Triomatica has not provided a firm release date within the Q1 2027 window and has not released pricing, monetization or platform-feature details. The Steam demo on Aug. 17 will be the first public preview of the core systems and chapter structure. More information on pre-registrations and the exact launch date will be released in the months before the planned window.
