June 2026 esports: MPL Indonesia tops, IEM Cologne leads English

MPL Indonesia Season 17 peaked near 2.95 million viewers as Bigetron beat ONIC 4–1. IEM Cologne led English broadcasts with about 1.08 million peak viewers.

MPL Indonesia Season 17 reached almost 2.95 million peak viewers during the Grand Final in which Bigetron defeated ONIC Esports 4–1 to claim its first MPL Indonesia title. The league’s English-language feeds topped 250,000 peak viewers for the first time, and the season ranked second among Mobile Legends tournaments in 2026 at that point.

IEM Cologne Major 2026 recorded more than 2.75 million peak viewers across all broadcasts and led English-language viewership with roughly 1.08 million peak viewers. The Counter-Strike event set new records for peak viewers, average viewers and hours watched for the discipline, and was the first Counter-Strike tournament to exceed 100 million hours watched. Team Falcons beat FURIA 3–0 in the final, and the event’s production, broad regional representation and an extensive co-streaming network contributed to audience size. Community and co-stream broadcasts accounted for nearly half of the total viewers.

South Korea’s LCK 2026 Road to MSI reached 2.27 million peak viewers during the deciding series between T1 and Gen.G. T1 won 3–2 to secure one of South Korea’s berths at the Mid-Season Invitational alongside Hanwha Life Esports. Gen.G failed to qualify for MSI for the first time since 2022. The Road to MSI was the third LCK event to surpass 2 million concurrent viewers and, at that time, was the most-watched League of Legends tournament of 2026.

The Mid-Season Invitational began on June 28. Its opening two days placed the event in the monthly top five. The Play-In stage reached more than 1.39 million peak viewers during T1’s series against Team Liquid, exceeding the Play-In peak from 2025. Korean-language peak viewership rose by nearly four times compared with the previous year, reflecting the tournament taking place in the team’s home country. The tournament’s final stages were scheduled for July, so overall totals for MSI were incomplete at the end of June.

National-team competition drew significant audiences as well. The 2026 Asian Games Southeast Asia Mobile Legends qualifiers reached more than 1.27 million peak viewers, with the largest audience during Malaysia’s 2–1 win over Indonesia. The qualifier was among the year’s top ten tournaments at that point and featured national teams competing for Asian Games spots.

When limited to English-language broadcasts, IEM Cologne remained the leader by a wide margin. Valorant Masters London 2026 ranked second in English viewership, reaching 483,625 concurrent viewers during the final in which Leviatán defeated Paper Rex. A creator-led Rocket League event, Jynxzi’s Streamer 3v3 Rocket League Tourney, reached just over 476,000 English peak viewers.

Channel-level figures mirrored tournament results. ESL’s main Counter-Strike YouTube channel logged 12.95 million hours watched during IEM Cologne and its Twitch channel added 11.51 million hours. MPL Indonesia’s main YouTube channel recorded a peak of 806,000 concurrent viewers during the Season 17 final. KRAFTON India Esports reached 9.3 million hours watched and 451,000 peak viewers driven by the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2026; that BGMI event reached nearly 730,000 peak viewers across all broadcasts and totaled more than 12.7 million hours watched.

June included seven tournaments with more than 1 million peak viewers and three that exceeded 2 million. Several events had incomplete totals at month end because competitions continued into July.
