Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis adds Classic Mode for 15th anniversary
Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis will include a Classic Mode restoring original towers, upgrades and abilities. The game launches September 24, 2026 on Android, iOS and PC.
Ironhide Game Studio will include a Classic Mode in Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis that restores the original towers, upgrade paths and signature abilities. The game is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026 for Android, iOS and PC.
Classic Mode restricts players to one hero and the four original tower families: Barracks, Archer, Mage and Artillery. Original upgrade paths return and a selection of specialist towers is available, including Rangers Hideout, Holy Order, Arcane Wizard, Tesla x104 and Big Bertha. Players will also have access to classic spells such as Rain of Fire and Reinforcements.
The developer removed a previously announced individual tower leveling system after community feedback and will use a global upgrade system instead. Ironhide is also redesigning the user interface to better match the series’ established style and interaction patterns.
In a statement, Ironhide Game Studio wrote that “The system did not fit what Kingdom Rush has always been about: experimenting with strategies and overcoming challenges through smart tower placement.”
Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis is set before the events of the 2011 original. The first Kingdom Rush was created by three friends in Uruguay and has since expanded into a multi-title tower defense series. Players can pre-register for early access on Android and iOS ahead of the September launch.
