KOF:Legend launches closed beta in Thailand as card RPG

JOY YOU opened a closed beta for KOF:Legend on Android in Thailand, turning King of Fighters characters into collectible cards; players can join via Google Play.

JOY YOU PTE. LTD. has opened a closed beta for KOF:Legend on Android in Thailand. The game is officially licensed by SNK and is available to download through the Google Play Store while the test remains active.

Players act as a manager who assembles teams from collectible card versions of The King of Fighters roster. The beta features characters such as Iori Yagami, Orochi Chris and Athena Asamiya. Users collect, upgrade and combine cards to create synergies and meet increasingly difficult encounters.

Character progression and team composition determine performance in battles. The game translates signature moves and attack animations from the fighting series into a card-battle presentation. Visuals and sound design aim to reflect the arcade-era style through familiar effects and combat cues adapted for a turn-based format.

KOF:Legend offers single-player and multiplayer modes. A recreated version of the original KOF storyline lets players face classic bosses and revisit scripted encounters. Multiplayer features include cooperative boss fights, shared rewards and a club system for group objectives and larger battles. The closed beta includes timed events and reward systems for testers.

The closed beta is limited to Android users in Thailand; JOY YOU has not announced a global release date. The testing period is intended to gather player feedback on balance, progression and multiplayer systems before any wider launch.

The title follows a recent pattern of adapting established fighting-game franchises into collectible, team-building mobile experiences that emphasize progression and event-driven play.
