Kong Studios announces Guardian Maiden for PC and mobile

Kong Studios and Kakao Games announced Guardian Maiden, a pixel-art action RPG for PC and mobile that follows a Hero and a Saint confronting an emerging evil.

Kong Studios and publisher Kakao Games announced Guardian Maiden, a pixel-art action RPG coming to Android, iOS and PC worldwide. The developers released initial artwork and a short premise but did not provide a release date.

The revealed image shows a colorful party of characters, including human and animal companions carrying weapons. A central figure in red appears in the artwork; developers did not identify individual characters. Kong Studios described the title as featuring a diverse cast and a vibrant pixel-art style.

The announcement focused on visual direction and setting. The developers did not disclose gameplay mechanics, progression systems, monetization details or technical specifics such as controller support, cross-play or save transfer between mobile and PC. Kong Studios plans to share additional information in the coming months.

Kong Studios is the team behind Guardian Tales and Dungeon Link. Guardian Tales combined real-time action combat, puzzle-based exploration, humor and story-focused content, while Dungeon Link was presented as a fantasy RPG. The developer has not confirmed whether Guardian Maiden will reuse systems or content from those earlier projects.

Kakao Games will handle worldwide publishing. The studio and publisher say they will release more details, including gameplay footage, system requirements and a launch schedule, as development progresses.
