Mika: Dungeon Backpacker opens Android pre-registration

Dave Studio opened Android pre-registration for Mika: Dungeon Backpacker, a dungeon-crawling simulator with a 10-floor grid dungeon and a puzzle-like backpack system.

Dave Studio has opened Android pre-registration for Mika: Dungeon Backpacker. The game is available to sign up for now on the Google Play Store; the developer has not announced iOS pre-orders or a launch date for other platforms.

The game is set in Stonia, where sections of the world are becoming dungeons. Players assume the role of Mika, the Dungeon Supporter, and investigate a ruined cathedral where an expedition vanished a century ago.

Gameplay takes place across a 10-floor grid-based dungeon. Each room presents choices that affect the run. Food is a limited resource, so players must weigh safer routes to reach bosses against riskier routes that offer better rewards.

Mika uses a persistent progression model: items and progress earned during runs are retained rather than lost on defeat.

The backpack system requires players to arrange weapons and armor in a constrained inventory, treating items like puzzle pieces to fit available space. Monsters drop a currency called Dungeon Coins, which can be spent to buy or craft specific gear, allowing targeted acquisition of items rather than relying solely on random drops.

Players form a party of four heroes and must consider monster traits and combat roles when assembling teams. Combat relies on counter mechanics tied to attack types: Chaos attacks break shields, Order attacks stop healing, and Neutral attacks pierce defense. These attack types interact with hero abilities and enemy traits.

The game includes additional modes such as PvP, a Nightmare Tower, and Mimic Dungeons to provide varied challenges. Dave Studio has described a roster of collectible heroes for party building and engagement with the gear and resource systems.

Pre-registration is currently limited to Android. Interested players can sign up on the Google Play Store to receive updates and access when the game launches on that platform.
