Minecraft Dungeons 2 now playable on Steam Deck

Minecraft Dungeons 2 runs on Steam Deck after a new update; Mojang is pursuing full Steam Deck verification and raised the Emerald cap to 99,999.
Mojang released an update this week that makes Minecraft Dungeons 2 playable on Valve’s Steam Deck and raises the game’s Emerald storage cap from 9,999 to 99,999.
Mojang wrote that “the game should be playable on Steam Deck” and added it is working on future improvements “to bring full Steam Deck verification.” The studio warned that some features, including the on-screen keyboard, may not function correctly for some users while support is refined.
At launch the title did not carry a Steam Deck verification badge, leaving handheld owners without an assurance of compatibility. The recent patch allows players to run the game on the device while developers pursue full verification. Players seeking the most stable, optimized performance may prefer to wait for that process to complete.
The update raises the Emerald cap from 9,999 to 99,999. Players reported that the previous limit could cause currency to overflow during late-game progression when upgrading a full set of gear. The higher cap reduces the chance of lost Emeralds and makes it easier to afford high-cost upgrades without repeated spending to avoid overcapping.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 follows action-RPG and loot-progression mechanics, with short quests, gear progression and repeatable endgame activities. Those design elements fit short play sessions on handheld hardware.
Mojang is monitoring player feedback and Steam Deck performance reports and plans additional usability and optimization patches in future updates.
