Minecraft for Switch 2 lands Oct. 27 with Vibrant Visuals

Minecraft arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct. 27 with a new “Vibrant Visuals” graphics mode and an upgraded Super Mario Mash-Up Pack that includes Peach’s Castle and Delfino Plaza.
Mojang confirmed that Minecraft will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27. The release adds a graphics mode called Vibrant Visuals and an upgraded Super Mario Mash-Up Pack optimized for the console.
Vibrant Visuals increases lighting intensity, deepens shadows and adds additional visual effects intended to enhance immersion in Minecraft’s block-based environments. Mojang has not released technical specifications for the mode, but the enhancements are expected to take advantage of Switch 2’s more capable hardware compared with the original Switch.
The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack includes a Super Mario-themed world, character skins, music and recreated locations such as Peach’s Castle and Delfino Plaza. The pack has been offered previously on Nintendo systems and PC; the updated version is prepared for Switch 2 hardware and restored Mario-themed cosmetics and content.
Mojang indicated the port will deliver improved performance alongside the visual upgrades but has not provided frame-rate or resolution targets, nor confirmed any gameplay features that would be unique to Switch 2.
Minecraft is available on more than 20 platforms, including last- and current-generation consoles, PC and mobile. The Switch 2 release will allow players on Nintendo’s newest system to run the latest version of the game with visuals tuned for the console.
Mojang and Nintendo have not disclosed the update size or pricing details for the upgraded Mash-Up Pack. Additional technical information and any purchase details are expected in the lead-up to the October 27 launch.
