ArenaNet announced MISTBOUND: Guild Wars Card Game, a free-to-play tactical card battler developed with bilibili and NC Corporation. The title will launch first on PC in China via bilibili; a mobile version is planned and no global release date has been confirmed.
Matches take place on a 5×3 grid where unit placement combines with deck-building. Players assemble squads from Squad cards that represent professions such as Warrior, Mesmer, Necromancer and Ranger, each providing distinct roles and strengths in combat.
The game introduces Commander units, leaders with passive traits and active abilities that influence board strategy. ArenaNet has named playable commanders including Trahearne, Nika and Knut Whitebear.
ArenaNet described single-player content alongside online PvP modes. The company did not provide a specific release date, pre-registration period or test schedule and indicated a wider international release has not been confirmed and could depend on the game’s reception in China.
MISTBOUND adapts Guild Wars classes and characters into a turn-based, board-focused format rather than the real-time MMORPG combat the series is known for. The project follows ArenaNet efforts to expand Guild Wars experiences across PC and mobile platforms.
