Mistbound: Official Guild Wars CCG coming to mobile
Mistbound, the first official Guild Wars trading card game, is a digital CCG announced for iOS and Android that uses a 5×3 tactical grid and allows repositioning between rounds.
Mistbound was announced as the first official Guild Wars trading card game. The developer confirmed the title will launch on iOS and Android but provided no release date or regional rollout details.
Players act as a Commander and deploy units represented by cards onto a five-by-three tactical grid. Matches are resolved in rounds; after each round players may reposition cards on the board. The game includes mechanics such as knockback and flanking that change unit placement and interactions between rounds.
Gameplay combines conventional card elements-card strength, abilities and round-based combat-with spatial tactics. Placement and movement on the grid will affect match outcomes alongside card stats and effects.
Characters from the Guild Wars franchise will appear as Commanders. Those Commanders can adopt roles modeled on the original game’s nine core professions. The developer confirmed the audio and visual design will follow Guild Wars’ established style.
The developer has not disclosed monetization details or a launch window. Further information, including release timing and business model, will be provided by the studio in future updates.
Mistbound translates Guild Wars characters and profession themes into a mobile collectible card game that emphasizes positional play and round-by-round repositioning.
