MLBB Advanced Server patch 2.1.98: Bruno revamp, card overhaul - news.goranked

Patch 2.1.98 on the Advanced Server updates Bruno’s visuals and fixes, nerfs Novaria, disables select skins, changes ranked point calculations and adds 20+ cards with a five-round Card Brawl.

MOONTON’s development team deployed Patch 2.1.98 on the Mobile Legends Advanced Server. The update includes a visual revamp for Bruno, a nerf to Novaria, temporary skin removals, system adjustments to ranked points, and a large rework of Card Brawl for testing before any live-server rollout.

The revamp for Bruno introduces a new model, updated animations, visual effects and sound effects. Remaining assets for the overhaul will be released later. A bug in Bruno’s Skill 2 that occasionally caused the dash to go in the wrong direction when using Smart Casting has been fixed, according to the patch notes.

Novaria received a targeted balance change. The magic power bonus on Novaria’s Skill 2 was reduced from 100% to 90%, reversing part of the increase applied in the prior patch.

Several skins were temporarily disabled while their visual and skill-effect updates are completed. Jujutsu Kaisen–themed skins have been removed from the Advanced Server for revamps, and Kaja’s skins are offline while the Revamped Kaja work is finalized. The patch notes say these removals let artists and engineers optimize skin assets alongside hero changes.

System-level adjustments change how Ranked Protection Points and Star-raising Points are calculated. The patch ties these recalculations to bonus points awarded by the Supreme Medal, as specified in the update notes.

Mode fixes address issues in Brawl and Card Brawl. The developers corrected a bug where Lukas and Sora did not remain at full HP after casting their ultimates while already at maximum health. Card Brawl received its largest update to date: more than 20 new cards were added, several existing cards were rebalanced or removed, and distribution pacing and frequency were adjusted.

Card distribution now happens across five rounds, and the final round is guaranteed to include a Legend (Gold) card. The update also adds a set of Premium (Blue) cards intended to balance match experiences and broaden available buffs.

All changes are active on the Advanced Server for player testing and feedback. MOONTON will monitor results on the Advanced Server before deciding which adjustments to apply on live servers.

Earlier, we reported that Mobile Legends’ Street Fighter collab launched July 3, 2026, with four event draw skins priced at 1,200 crests or 4,500 diamonds.
